Mohammad Irfan; A Walking Success Story Of Fatimid Foundation

They don’t lie when they say health is wealth. Good health is one of the most important blessings given to mankind but not all of us have been blessed with this. Some of us have to strive and struggle to keep healthy.

One of those struggles include the challenge to find blood for the thalassemia patients. While thalassemia is a treatable disorder it is still very hard to have a healthy lifestyle because that includes managing the disorder with blood transfusions and chelation therapy.

To ease this struggle for thalassemia patients in Pakistan, Fatimid foundation has been working day and night for over four decades, gathering blood donors from around the country and giving safe transfusions and treatment without any profit to those who are in desperate need. Mr. Mohammad Irfan is one such example.

Born in 1986, Mr. Mohammad Irfan is a 34 year old thalassemia major fellow who has been proudly associated with Fatimid Foundation for over 9 years now. He is being managed by fatimid Foundation and employed at Fatimid Foundation as an office boy.

In a conversation, Mr. Mohammad sincerely thanked Fatimid Foundation for his treatment. He believes that he has to take care of himself in order to help people who are in similar circumstances.

While highlighting the hardships Fatimid Foundation has faced during the lockdown especially dealing with blood shortage, Mohammad urged people to donate in every 3 to 4 months or 3-4 times a year stating that it’s not only beneficial for patients like him but also for the donors themselves as well.

Mohammad described the friendly environment of Fatimid Foundation and mentioned that working there has been a blessing for him. He also said that Fatimid not only treats over 3000 thalassemia patients but it also works for thalassaemia prevention while being a non-profit organization.

In times as hard as today’s, Fatimid Foundation along with Mohammad Irfan urges the people of Pakistan to donate blood not only for the safety of these patients but also for their good health. To find more about thalassemia, blood donation and Mohammad Irfan, visit https://fatimid.org/
