World Haemophilia Day Symposium With Fatimid Foundation
Each year the world reaches out to the bleeding
disorder’s community and spreads awareness by celebrating World Haemophilia Day. This happens on the 17th of April, the date
of birth of Frank Schnabel, founder of the World Federation of Haemophilia.
Following the world ritual, Fatimid Foundation like every year
celebrated World Haemophilia Day at Beach Luxury Hotel by honoring and
spreading awareness amongst the haemophilia patients. While highlighting the
continuous advances in treatment at Fatimid
Foundation, the doctors also tried understanding and paid attention to the
issues related to proper care to the wider public.
The celebration started off with
Tilawat-e-Quran and was followed
by Naat, both performed by Haemophilia patient. Welcome address was
given by Dr. Waleed Bin Azhar (COO, Fatimid
Foundation). Next on the dice was Dr.Syed Aijaz Ali Zaidi who shed
light on how to take care of dental hygiene of the haemophilia patients. Dr.Syed
Aijaz Ali Zaidi is an assistant professor of oral medicine at Baqai Medical
University.
The patients and attendees were next
greeted by Dr. Muhammad Kamran who is consultant gastroenterologist at Baqai
Medical University, he explained Gastrointestinal bleeding in patients with
bleeding disorder. After Dr. Muhammad, Dr. Shabneez Hussain (consultant haematologist,
Fatimid Foundation) explained
Point-of-care joint ultrasound in Haemophilia.
Dr. Shabneez Hussain also shed light
on the strengths and limitations of Point-of-care joint ultrasound. She ended
her speech by thanking Fatimid
Foundation for taking care of all the haemophilia patients and the
government for the grant that helps the patients. Also, all of these doctors
used PowerPoint presentations to carefully highlight every detail of what they
conveyed to the audience making everything crystal clear.
This documentary was followed by a speech from
the chairman of Fatimid Foundation Lt.
Gen. (R) Moinuddin Haider HI (M) and the Chief
Guest. Vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Akbar Najmuddin (director, Haemophilia
department, Fatimid Foundation). The
event came to an ending with the distribution of certificates and shields to
honor those who contributed in the commencement of the celebration. In the end, the Haemophilia community left with hope and awareness.
